Magnier warms up with bumper win
JP Magnier warmed up for his mount on Shot From The Hip at Cheltenham by riding the winner of the concluding bumper at Navan.
Magnier sent Aughaloor to the front over a furlong out and the Willie Mullins-trained gelding stayed on strongly to score by a length-and-three-quarters from Romantic Lead
"JP wanted a ride before Cheltenham as he needed a bit of a blow out for race fitness and ask us to run something," said stable representative Harold Kirk.
"We thought he would finish in the first four and were a bit surprised but JP gave him a brilliant ride.
"The better ground helped as he's a Supreme Leader and he'll make a nice jumping horse."
