Magen a Star in Thurles mud
With a flat rating of 93 Magen's Star was always going to have big claims given her front-running style if taking to the hurdling game and she loved her new job as she showed by routing the opposition in the Templemore Mares Maiden Hurdle at Thurles.
Backed from as big as 5/1 this morning into 9/4, supporters of Davy Condon's mount never had too many worries as she led and soon had a big advantage. She was going to win from some way out bar something untoward happening, she flicked over two out and galloped on for a very easy success over Coolharbour Breeze Favourite Style Of Campile had a lot to do when making a mistake four out and it wasn't going to happen for her from there on.
'Fozzy' Stack, son of winning trainer Tommy, said: "She loved that ground though her jumping can be a bit guessy. Hopefully she'll win a few more on that ground. She'll go for a little winners race next before she goes for anything posh."
