The Tara Lee Cogan-trained Bobby Jean galloped on strongly in the closing stages to claim the mile-and-a-half handicap at Sligo.
Tom Madden produced the 7/1 shot to lead turning for home and she proved a willing partner in the closing stages.
10/3 favourite Boom Or Bush gave chase inside the final furlong but couldn't get on terms with Bobby Jean, who pulled away again close home for a length-and-three-quarters success.
The winner was supported from 11/1. She had finished mid-division on three recent outings on the level since switching back from hurdling.
Tom Madden, “Tara has been very loyal as I’ve ridden Bobby Jean plenty of times and mucked up a few times.
“The handicapper gave her a chance, and there has been a few things wrong with her but Tara has sorted them out well.
“I dropped her in a little the last day at Tipperary and they asked me to ride her prominent today. She travelled great, picked up nicely and toughed it out well.”
