Trainer Ger Lyons, stable jockey Colin Keane and owner Sean Jones completed a double at Gowran today as Mint Chai landed the 188BET Race, having earlier won the opening maiden with Tony The Gent

Mint Chai raced prominently throughout and while he had challengers on both sides from two furlongs out, stayed on best to firstly shake off Ebediyin and then French Blue for a half length win over the latter.

Lyons later commented “I was a bit worried on figures coming into this but he was well, fit and fresh, and will get further.

"He's a pleasure to train but there is not much of him as he has a light frame. He's not ground dependant and could go for a Listed race now."
