Lyons keeps the owners happy
Joe Eile landed a 10,000 euro bonus for his owners, the HB Partnership, in taking Dundalk's opening six furlong maiden by a short head from 20/1 outsider Dazzle Them
Joe Eile was returned at 7/2 second favourite for South African jockey Keagan Latham. He was backed down from 9/2 at the track. The 2/1 favourite Royal Blue Star from Aidan O'Brien's yard was three parts of a length away in third.
Shane Lyons, brother and assistant trainer to Dundalk's leading trainer Ger Lyons, said: "He has been a consistent sort apart from on soft ground at Fairyhouse.
"We were really fighting for that bonus to help the owners through the year.
The horse will have a nice break now and will come back in the spring."
Aidan O'Brien's other runner, President Lincoln finished fourth. Both O'Brien colts realised $775,000 as yearlings.
