Lyons fillies take the 1st and 3rd
Ger Lyons saddled the first and third home in the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Maiden as Future Generation battled off Flic Flac by a head with a two length gap back to Girl Guide
The favourite Imperator Augustus could manage only fourth whilst big morning market-mover Balmont Mast reared up as the stalls opened, ran green and free and faded from two out to finish well down the field.
Lyons said of Future Generation: "She is a fine big filly and it is great for the lads who own her (the Viking Syndicate). They work in Ennistown Stud, and they cuddled her back to health after she broke her nose as a yearling.
"It is important for the breeders to win with these two-year-olds so it's good for Ennistown Stud who have the dam.
"Keagan was very strong on her and hopefully we'll be able to win with the third filly (Girl Guide) next weekend."
