Prince Garyantle made a winning start for trainer Matthew Smith at Tramore today when readily landing the Join thetote.com For Bonus Handicap Hurdle under jockey Andrew Lynch.
Lynch has had a torrid time since falling at Cork on August 2016 when fracturing his right arm, but having steered his first winner back at the Co Waterford venue yesterday, today made it two winners in as many days.
Indeed, things could have hardly have gone much better for Lynch on Prince Garyantle, who easily coasted to a comfortable 10 lengths success.
The winner carried first-time cheekpieces today and following the race, Smith stated “he was impressive there - it was his first run for me and I wasn't sure what to expect.
“I have him a month or so and he came to me in good shape and was working well at home, but I didn't know what to expect. I was happy when I saw Andrew (Lynch) out in front on him and he galloped away and jumped well. I'm delighted for the syndicate (Home & Dry Syndicate). I have no plan for him now, we'll see."
