Trainer Eddie Lynam completed a double at Navan today when his Quote Of The Day came up the stands’ side of the course to comfortably win what looked a potentially competitive Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden.

Winning jockey Chris Hayes, in a proper enterprising ride, brought the son of Modigliani alone towards the outside of the course entering the straight. The benefit of racing on the better ground, along with the winner’s obvious ability, helped him to record a seven lengths win over Casual Creeper

Afterwards Lynam said “Quote Of The Day did it well and will now go for the 1m1f Listed Eyrefield Stakes at Leopardstown.

“Chris (Hayes) decided to come up the centre of the course and I’m sure it was the right thing as the ground is getting a bit poached now.”
