Major Power led home a 1-2 for Eddie Lynam at Dundalk today as the trainer got off the mark for the new year in the concluding Valentine's Weekend Special Dundalk Handicap.
Major Power was today gaining his second career win, both for 3lbs apprentice jockey Ben Coen, and beat stablemate Masalai under Gavin Ryan, by a length and three parts.
Lynam later stated “it's good to win with him. He was a little bit disappointing the last day but he came back to form today and won well.
“The runner-up (Masalai) ran his race, they are what they are. Everything went right for them. It's nice to get the first one of the year up anyway and get it out of the way.”
