With successes for Tom Madden, Killian Leonard and Shane Crosse there was much talk of the apprentice title at Dundalk tonight, and last year's top man when it came to the youngsters, Oisin Orr got in on the act, winning the penultimate event on Clare Island (7/1).
This Carna Transport Ltd Handicap saw in-form Eddie Lynam continue a fruitful end to the turf Flat campaign, his Kilboy Estate-owned Clare Island getting the upper hand on Ahundrednotout by half a length after not having a completely trouble free passage through.
"Oisin was good on her. It's always nice to win for Kilboy, they've been good supporters and they've been with me since Duff which is a long time," said Lynam.
"He rode a good patient race on her. She likes it here and we'll come back in about a month or so and find another one for her.
"She can be a bit keen and she's her own worst enemy. You've got to ride her for luck, sometimes you get it and sometimes you don't."
