Lynam completes well-backed Navan sprint double

Eddie Lynam completed a sprint double at Navan today as the Royal Ascot winning trainer was responsible for a second well backed winner on the day, as his Tide Of Time landed the Arkle Bar Handicap under jockey Shane Foley.
Half an hour earlier Lynam's Dapper Power justified strong 7/4 favouritism and Tide Of Time himself attracted plenty of late support, when shortening from 11/2 on track in to 10/3 favourite at the off.
Lynam's own-bred gelding was a course and distance winner at the venue 10 days ago and while raised 11lbs by the handicapper for the success, today defied the rise to 60 when beating Amazing One by half a length.
Lynam later said “it took him a while to get his act together but he’s getting it together now. It’s the same family as the previous winner which has been good to us; his dam is a half-sister to Dapper Power.
“He did it well and we’ll stay on the same road with him. He might go to Dundalk, will stay handicapping and we’ll see where we end up.”
