Luck favours Bremen
Paul Flynn, who lost Pallasmore here on Sunday, enjoyed a welcome change of luck when Bremen was presented with victory following the exit of Lucky William at the second last fence in the two miles beginners chase.
The 2/1 favourite looked all over the winner approaching two out, and in fact jumped that fence superbly. However he landed a bit steeply and as a result hit the ground along with unfortunate rider Bryan Cooper.
This left chasing newcomer Bremen (8/1) well clear and he was kept up to his work by Barry Geraghty to come home six lengths clear of Bit Of A Devil
“He would have been a good second but I feel we deserved that bit of luck after Pallasmore was killed here on Sunday. He needs further, and we will have to decide whether we go for some smaller races in England or are a bit more adventurous over here,” said Flynn.
