Backed in from around 3/1 earlier, into a returned 11/10, Love Potion made a more than pleasing start to her career, the two-year-old daughter of Galileo taking the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Fillies Maiden (Plus 10 Race) at Dundalk under Fran Berry.
Sue Anne McManus bred Love Potion and Berry sported the silks of her father J P aboard the 'jolly.'
Berry gave the David Wachman-trained first-timer a considerate ride and she overcame greenness to display plenty of natural talent, getting there near the finish for a half a length victory over Double Espresso
"She was green early on, and I was a few places further back than I wanted to be. When I switched her out she had plenty of ground to make up. She's done it well and it's a nice start," reported Berry.
F.M. Berry, rider of Love Potion trained by David Wachman, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung left under pressure.
