Jockey Roger Loughran partnered his first winner for trainer Gordon Elliott at Downpatrick today as the nicely bought Buyer Beware landed the opening Count Me In Maiden Hurdle, in the colours of Loughran's sponsor, insurance broker Tim O'Driscoll.
Purchased by O'Driscoll for E35,000 last November, the ex-Jessica Harrington trained son of Big Bad Bob comfortably beat his ten rivals when justifying 7/2 favouritism.
Afterwards Elliott, who has enjoyed a monumental March, stated “it mightn't have been the strongest race in the world but he did it well. He'd be a stone better on good ground.
"He might go to Perth in three weeks time for a novice hurdle."
Owner Tim O'Driscoll, from Dublin, also sponsors Nina Carberry and Paul Townend through his Odon Insurance company.
