Lord Schnitzel sent favourite backers home happy at Tramore when landing odds of 4/7 in the concluding Gaultier Hunters Chase.
The Getaway gelding has proved something of a winning machine since joining Declan Queally in 2021 and now has two hunter chase wins to add to his six victories in point-to-points.
Jack Hendrick ’s mount led away from the penultimate fence and kept on well on the run-in to beat Lar’s Lass by two and three-quarter lengths. Carrig Wells finished a further three-quarters of a length back in third.
Queally said, “He deserved it and we will try to find something similar for him. He is a ten-year-old now and has a lot of racing done.
"Klaus (Koentopp, owner) is a German man and he lives up around Ballinasloe. He has two horses with us and he had another one that we sold last year after he won his point-to-point. He is called Lord Snootie and is with Christian Williams now. I think he is coming over to run in Punchestown."
