Loosen My Load delights Listowel crowd
Loosen My Load a beautiful looking horse with tremendous scope, put up a performance in keeping with his 8/15 odds when he trounced his rivals in the Southampton Goodwill Steeplechase at Listowel.
Andrew Lynch got some great leaps out of the Dushyantor six-year-old and he was always going to beat his three rivals barring some misfortune. His fourth rival Hampstead Heath virtually refused at the second and he was pulled up after that by Paul Carberry.
The only slightly anxious moment for Loosen My Load (now two from two over fences) supporters was when he brushed through two out but that did nothing to impede him from a three and a half length victory over Schelm
Successful trainer Henry de Bromhead said: "He'll go for a Grade 3 on the 14th of October at Punchestown (same race as Sizing Europe won last year). Then we might look at a two miler at Cheltenham in November. He is an absolutely brilliant horse to jump and Andrew gave him a great ride. He said he got in a little bit close to two out and that he was jumping out of his hands at other fences. He did it the hard way out in front. He has a great cruising speed."
Lynch said: "He jumped super. He wasn't doing a whole lot in front and I was glad when David (Casey on Schelm) joined me."
Winning owner Alan Potts said: "We hope he'll follow in the footsteps of Europe (Arkle winner Sizing Europe). His target will be the Arkle too."
