Longhunter makes winning debut
Morning gamble (8/1 – 3/1) Longhunter belied the lack of late market support (returned a 5/1 chance) when making an impressive winning debut, for trainer Kevin Prendergast, in the Moyglare Grenzen EBF Maiden at Leopardstown today.
Longhunter, a son of Halling and ridden by Declan McDonogh, chased the leaders, led over a furlong out before striding clear for an easy four lengths win over the staying on Treasure Beach
Afterwards Prendergast stated “Longhunter had always shown us plenty at home and he did it well today. I’ve no plans for him but his is entered in all the right races.”
