- Lively early trade for Roscommon
Lively early trade for Roscommon
No Trimmings the subject of a successful morning price gamble when scoring at Navan almost a year ago to the day (June 12th 2009), has again been of big interest in the shops in early trading for the 6.50 at Roscommon this evening, the Ladies Day At Roscommon On July 5th Handicap.
Gerry Keane 's chestnut daughter of Medecis bids to shrug aside a 236 day lay-off under Davy Moran in tonight's seven furlong 47-60 contest. The handicapper has given No Trimmings some respite as she now races off 58 having been a 63 at one stage last term.
Her price for the Roscommon race has contracted from as big as 20/1 into a best-priced 3/1.
Her dam, Cheviot Indian was unsuccessful in her career but she is well-related being a half-sister to listed winner, Amalia. Their dam, Cheviot Amble won no less than eight races for Pat Flynn in the early nineties.
Meanwhile Brian McCormack, who saw his silks carried into third place by Grand Opera at this venue yesterday, has another chance in the [email protected] Maiden Hurdle with Braa Bolt
This five-year-old Luso gelding has been supported from as big as 20/1 into a best-priced 6/1. Paul Carberry takes the mount and it will be the first time that Braa Bolt has encountered a sound surface.
Gordon Elliott also has Riverscape engaged here.
