Placed twice at last year's Listowel festival but well beaten in his latest two outings after a year's absence, Little Mixup sprang a 50/1 surprise in the 80-102 handicap hurdle.
Donagh Meyler had him handy throughout and produced him to challenge between the last two flights. He took over from Derridae at the last before staying on well to beat that rival by four and a quarter lengths with 9/4 favourite The Connector another eight lengths back in third.
Meyler, partnering the Shirocco gelding for trainer Denis Hogan, said: "He was very professional in doing things, handled the ground well and jumped well so it makes my job a lot easier when those things are in your favour.
"They quickened off the hill and it took him until we straightened up to get going."
