After losing out by the minimum margin at Ballinrobe last week Draycott Place gained ample compensation in today's John J. Galvin Handicap Chase at Listowel.
Mark Enright was aboard John Ryan's 12/1 victor and up the run-in he proved half a length superior to The West's Awake Montalbano was just behind the leaders when falling at the last, whilst winning trainer John Ryan's other representative in the two mile three event, Kylecrue finished sixth.
"Mark rang me for the ride and I gave him his first winner over hurdles and I remember recommending him to Dessie Hughes. For one reason or another he hadn't ridden for me for some time and he gave him a lovely ride," stated Ryan.
"He was very unlucky at Ballinrobe when I felt there should have been a stewards' enquiry and I felt he was very unlucky to be beaten.
"It was unlucky for Conor Brassil as he was on the wrong one with Kylecrue but he probably needed the run. He rode a lovely winner today though and is a good lad."
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined A Rated trained by Henry de Bromhead, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be injured post race.
