Lisrose scores as fancied ones crash out
Lisrose claimed a deserved victory in the opening mares maiden hurdle at Limerick but the whole complexion of the race changed five from home.
The eventual winner had taken up the running going out on the final circuit and her task was made considerably easier at the fifth last.
6/4 favourite Thynetocatcher was just behind the leader when falling at that flight and bringing down the market second choice Tellherimnothere
Lisrose kept on well down the straight under Declan Queally, who partnered the winner for his father - also Declan. Mini Vic came through to chase the winner home, but could only get within six-and-a-half lengths.
"She deserved that and she's always been decent," said Queally senior.
"It turned out a handy enough race. I wasn't crying when the two principles fell even though one is a neighbour!
"She may go for a beginners chase now as she's a fine big mare. She'd probably be better on better ground."
