Typhoon Lily readily justified her 4/6 favourite tag at Dundalk this evening, easily winning the Floodlit Friday Nights At Dundalk Fillies Maiden for trainer Michael O'Callaghan and jockey Fergal Lynch.
The daughter of Unbridled's Song led two furlongs out and never looked in danger thereafter, stayed on well to defeat promising newcomer Nomoneynohomney.
Afterwards O'Callaghan stated “I'm happy with that! She's a nice filly with plenty of ability and Fergal said she had plenty left.
“She was the last one off the bridle and will probably be better in a better race as she has a high cruising speed. That trip (seven furlongs) is her minimum and she is bred for a mile and a quarter. Her three parts sister (Octave) won the American Oaks.”
