20/1 Full Of Light grabbed his opportunity with both hands after getting in as first reserve in the bumper at Downpatrick.
The Mags Mullins-trained gelding had been pulled up in a point-to-point at Fairyhouse last month and left that run well behind. Aslukwoodhavit went to post a 4/9 shot in the two-mile-one contest and went to the front with over a circuit to run.
He still looked to be travelling well coming down the hill but came under pressure passing the furlong pole and was soon claimed by Full Of Light.
The Leading Light gelding showed greenness late on when drifting left but had plenty left for Tom Hamilton as he recored a two-and-three-quarter length win over Kingfisher Lane
The odds-on favourite could only finish fourth.
