Light That got off the mark on his fourth start over fences, as he held off the 8/11 favourite Robin Des Foret in the La Touche Restaurant Novice Chase.
Last seen finishing a close third to True Self in a valuable handicap over hurdles at the Punchestown Festival, the Jessica Harrington trained bay was sent off at 10/3 this evening (available at 15/2 in early shows).
Settled in second by Robbie Power, the son of Echo Of Light improved into a narrow lead from four out.
He was pressed by the market leader from the second last, however he soon pulled out more under pressure, keeping on well on the run-in to prevail by half a length.
David Mullins was aboard Robin Des Foret, who was closing on the winner all the way to the line. Roconga was another two and three parts of a length back in third, while there was another fifteen lengths back to the fourth.
"All he wanted was a bit of nice ground. He ran very well here at the festival," said Harrington.
"He's had a good bit of practice on heavy ground. I was just waiting on good ground as he couldn't quicken up on that.
"On that ground he jumps brilliant and travels well. Two miles is his trip. He'll mix it between the Flat, hurdles and chasing.
"He's a bit like Neverushacon in that he'll go in every code.
"They (the Flyers Syndicate) are very lucky owners."
STEWARDS REPORT
The Stewards interviewed D.J. Mullins, rider of Robin Des Foret, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that D.J. Mullins was in breach of Regulation 10.4 in that he used his whip without giving his mount time to respond. Having considered his previous record in this regard, the Stewards suspended D.J. Mullins for 2 racedays.
