Light Heavy looks a contender

Light Heavy at 3/1 gave Jim Bolger a second consecutive win in the Group 3 Ballsax Stakes at Leopardstown over a mile and a quarter after Banimpire’s win last year.
Bolger will be hopeful that Light Heavy can prove to be as useful as Banimpire and he certainly has high hopes for the colt who tracked the leaders in third before asserting at the final furlong and winning by two and a half lengths from Call To Battle (2/1).
He said: “I think we’ll go the Curragh route [Irish Derby]. He’ll come back for the Derrinstown before then. We like him. He only does what he has to. He’s a very laidback horse."
When asked about Aidan O’Brien’s domination of the day he commented: “It’s nice to know the competition is in form as it’s nice when you beat them!”
O’Brien’s David Livingston was sent off 7/4 market leader but finished fifth.
