Libano wins Knockaire Stakes
Libano received a brilliant front running ride by Pat Smullen to land the Knockaire Stakes Listed Race by a cosy two lengths.
Smullen who was soon in front aboard the Indian Ridge gelding, stretched clear of his rivals over two furlongs out and kept on well to keep the 4/6 favourite Rayeni at bay.
“We’re still only learning about this fellow. As you know he’s a winner of the Premio Daumier in France and I thought he handled the ground well today”, said winning trainer Dermot Weld.
“I think he will go on the better ground and he should do well for us next season at Group level over a mile.”
