Letterlee Star Comes Good
The well-bred Letterlee Star (by Old Vic out of the Thyestes Chase heroine of 1998, Letterlee) brought quite spells for his trainer and rider to an end with a comprehensive seven length win in the Littleton Handicap Hurdle.
For the 20/1 chance's handler, Michael McDonogh, it was a first success since Moving Star scored at Roscommon in August 2007. Sean McDermott, the man on board, last visited the winner's enclosure at Listowel last September on Kilbane River.
Equipped with cheek-pieces for the second time, Letterlee Star paid 47.80 on the Tote. (EM)
