Lesson for Burke in Ballyogan
Karl Burke's Lesson In Humility ran out a comfortable winner of the Group 3 Ballyogan Stakes at Leopardstown.
The filly, ridden by twenty-two-year-old Andy Elliott, stalked the leaders into the straight before hitting the front with just over a furlong to race.
This was Elliott first Group success on his first visit to Ireland.
Burke said afterwards: "She is an improving filly. We have her entered in the Wokingham Handicap, but she will have a five pounds penalty for this victory so we will more likely run in the Group 1 Golden Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot."
Regarding the filly's tendency to swish her tail in the closing stages of the race Burke said: "She does that in all her races and is not un-genuine."
