Bill Lee moved to within one winner of the ‘yellow jersey’ position in the Jockeys’ Championship at Tipperary today, as he steered the Willie McCreery trained, Godolphin owned Snowstar who survived a stewards’ enquiry before winning the Download The Award Winning At The Races App Maiden.
The daughter of Raven’s Pass leaned in towards runner-up Comhairdeas in the closing stages and following an enquiry, held the race and her original neck win.
The win moves Lee to within one of Championship leader Kevin Manning (34 winners) and level with Colin Keane for second place (33 winners apiece) while nine-times Champion Pat Smullen has currently ridden 26 winners.
Following the race, McCreery stated “she is a grand little filly and is improving the whole time and likes that quick ground, and evern quicker would suit her.
“It was a good time (57.95sec) and we won’t rush her now as she took a while coming to hand, as she is a small filly.”
