On the mark twice at the Dowdallshill venue last Friday, Billy Lee got on the score-sheet again aboard 2/1 joint favourite I'vegotafeeling in the Happy Mother's Day Weekend At Dundalk Stadium Median Auction Maiden.
Runner-up here three weeks ago over a mile, dropping back to seven furlongs wasn't expected to prove any impediment for the Rock Of Gibraltar colt and it wasn't surprising to see him in front after a furlong.
Leigh Roche on the first-time blinkered Wateed didn't have the horse to take a gap between I'vegotafeeling and the rail in the final furlong.
When I'vegotafeeling got to the fence, Roche switched around on Wateed and his mount finished off well but he was still a length in arrears at the line.
Winning trainer Charlie Swan said: "He's a lovely big horse and he'll grow into himself. He's nearly 16.3 and he'll improve.
"He seems to go on any type of ground." (AM & EM)
