"Travelling all over them in behind is Roconga said racecourse commentator Jerry Hannon and indeed once Billy Lee pushed the button the pair went on to land the concluding mile and a half handicap.
This gave jockey Lee a double on the day and 50 winners in a season for the first time. He took the featured Blenheim Stakes on Moonlit Show in race three on the card.
He was absolutely motionless on board Roconga in third racing into the final quarter of a mile and pushed his mount to the front at the furlong pole from My Direction
Roconga (11/2) was ridden out to land the first prize by a length and three parts for Edward O'Grady. Total Demolition got up for second at 20/1 with My Direction a further half a length adrift in third at 5/1.
Edward O'Grady said: "He's in the Cesarewitch. I don't know if he'll go there or maybe the November Handicap at Leopardstown.
“I'll discuss it with the owner, my son-in-law (Robert Byrne), and it's whatever he says. He may go for a hurdle after that.
“He's getting better. He couldn't handle that ground 12 months ago but he's stronger now.”
