Jockey Bill Lee completed a treble at Down Royal today when steering the Pat Flynn trained Gusty Rocky to win the concluding West Coast Cooler Ulster Cesarewitch Handicap.
Earlier today Lee, who won the Group 1 Matron Stakes (run at Leopardstown tomorrow) with Fiesolana in 2014, had winners in the opener on Childhood and also on the Nicole McKenna trained Modern Tutor
Following Gusty Rocky’s win, Lee stated “it’s been a good day and Pat (Flynn) was hoping for a good run from this fellow.
“I just took all the chances and crept away and when he got the gap, he picked up well and went to the line well. He had good form over hurdles but I suppose that's the first day he's put it on to the flat.”
