She's A Leader defied top-weight on her handicap debut to run out a convincing winner of the Mullingar.ie Handicap Hurdle at Kilbeggan.
Mark Bolger produced the 11/1 shot (as short as 5/1 this morning) with a perfectly timed run to challenge at the last and she powered home on the run-in. Toretto ran on to take second but could only get within a length-and-a-half of the Robert Honner-trained winner.
She's A Leader was following up her maiden success at Roscommon earlier in the month.
“I'm delighted with her. I'm very lucky to have a good mare and good owners,” said Honner.
“She won well and Mark said he always felt confident. I was a little worried about the ground. It had a bit of cut in it especially down the back, but she done it well.
“We'll see how she comes out of it and then look at options.” Wate And Sea was sent off the 9/4 favourite but faded in the closing stages to finish eighth.
