Declan Lavery gave the 11/8 favourite Ourbeautifuldream a perfectly timed ride as she took the last at Wexford this evening the Barrow Mares bumper for her trainer Prunella Dobbs.
Having just gone down by a neck to Chiltern Hills over the course and distance last time out, the daughter of King's Theatre was well fancied to oblige today.
After opening as big as 5/1 this morning with Paddy Powers she opened on track at 9/4 before being backed into 11/8 at the off.
Patrick Mullins aboard Dani Catalonia (7/1) got the front with a hundred yards to race but was caught by the winner close to the finish and had to settle for second going down by just three parts of a length. Crystal Earth for Peter Fahey finished a close up third another three parts of a length back at 10/1.
Winning trainer Prunella Dobbs said afterwards: "It's lovely to have a nice win in Wexford. She has a wonderful will to win and a tremendous heart. She might come back here again for a winners bumper in July before going hurdling.
"She aims to please and always has a smile on her face. She is a mare that is happy to see you every morning.
"Her owners are Jim & Ann O'Neill and they have had lots of success (also own Our Girl Salley) and they have plenty of horses with us."
Lavery was recording his sixth win of the new National Hunt season aboard the winner.
