Conor McGovern executed waiting tactics to perfection to land the opening race at Dundalk, the Connolly Kelly Accountants Claiming Race aboard Catchy Lass
Tony Mulholland's charge came from the back of the field with her effort in the straight. The 5/2 second market choice got the better of favourite Hes Our Music from the furlong pole.
From there home she proved much the strongest to account for Ineffable by four and a quarter lengths.
"Dropping into that sort of grade she had to go close," said Mulholland.
"She was pretty closely handicapped with Hes Our Music and she runs well around here.
"She would have improved from her run two weeks ago. She takes a couple of runs to get her right.
"I put her in for €16,000 so if she goes she goes. She wouldn't have the best joints in the world and she doesn't really like the grass."
Ineffable was claimed afterwards by RMD Cleaning to be trained by Roger Sweeney. Catchy Lass was claimed back by her owners.
