Water Nymph (Jack Cleary) holds off Randall Poets Lass

Jack Cleary partnered his first winner for Aidan O’Brien when giving Water Nymph a fine ride from the front to land the Behans Horseshoe Bar, Restaurant & Townhouse Maiden at Listowel.
The impeccably bred daughter of Saxon Warrior was gaining an important winning bracket here at the tenth attempt.
The 9/2 shot was ridden over a furlong out and kept on well to hold off the fast-finishing Randall Poets Lass by half-a-length with Toll Stone in third.
The runner-up had just two behind entering the straight but after making good headway between horses a furlong out, could not bridge the gap to the winner before the line.
Cleary said, "That is very important and I'm happy to get it out of the way.
"Ballydoyle is a great experience, I'm full-time there and I'm very thankfully to everyone. That's my 14th winner, my first for Ballydoyle and it is great to get the chance.
"The plan was to go forward, try to stay there and thankfully it worked out in the end. She stays going and gets further."
