Lake An Lay wins opener
The Willie Mullins trained Lake An Lay justified favouritism after he landed the opening race on this evenings card, the Derrinstown Stud Apprentice Race in the hands of Paul Townend for owners Ballylinch Stud.
Townend raced his mount in behind leaders, ridden to take closer order approaching straight and kept on well to lead inside final furlong and hold off the long time leader Mystic Mayfly from the Danny Miley stable by 3 lengths.
Winning trainer Willie Mullins was not present.
