Ladytown battles her way to victory
Ladytown from the Dave Marnane stable got the better of a three-way finish when coming home in front of the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Handicap.
Shane ‘Dusty’ Foley who took the riding honours made most of the running aboard the daughter of Bertolini.
The pair were headed by Little Bug entering the straight but the 12/1 shot responded well to pressure to get back up and lead close home to win by short head.
Winning jockey Foley said afterwards: “She battled well and she tried her heart out. It was like she knew where the line was and stuck her neck out.”
