Leigh Roche gets Burren View Lady home from Moss Nation

Equipped with a first-time tongue-strap off a sliding mark, Burren View Lady justified the confidence of those that backed her from around 10/1 earlier in the day, into 11/4 favouritism, for the Crowne Plaza Hotel Race & Stay Handicap at Dundalk.
Leigh Roche gave the Dansili filly, bred by fellow Galway man, Liam Mulryan, a strong drive to get the better of Moss Nation by a neck.
A five time winner in her days with Tim Easterby, Burren View Lady now competes for the predominantly Galway-based grouping, the Is That All Syndicate, and trainer Denis Hogan.
"I was worried that it was a bit fast for her up here. She was dropping down a bit in grade and she hadn't been finishing out her races. We put a tongue-tie on her at home and she was working way better," said Hogan.
"I'd imagine we'll wait for the turf now as she'd like a bit of an ease."
The Stewards fined Michael J. Browne, trainer, â¬350 for lodging a passport in respect of Sofi's Spirit in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards allowed the horse to run on receipt of the trainer's written assurance that the vaccinations were in order.
C.D. Hayes, rider of Fairy Foxglove trained by P.J.F. Murphy, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount anticipated the start resulting in her banging her head off the gates before they opened.
