Label too strong for hotpot Mac

Black Label gained a deserved win at Navan tonight when getting the better of the well-supported Tempo Mac in the 1m5f handicap.
The runner-up was sent to post a 11/10 shot having traded at 2/1 this morning. He came to lead a furlong-and-a-half from home but was soon tackled by Black Label.
The Ado McGuinness-trained runner got on top inside the final furlong and kept on gamely, under Declan McDonogh, to record a half length success.
The 8/1 winner had been placed on his last two outings at Leopardstown last month.
“He's a good few pound higher on the all-weather. He had two good solid runs at Leopardstown and ran into one or two,” said McGuinness.
“He has improved. He stays but he's a bit leery and only does enough.
“He's in Killarney over 2m1f and he's also in over fences. He's a serious horse to jump so we could go either way.”
