La Chassotte takes last at Fairyhouse
Jockey Ben Curtis gained compensation when taking the concluding Batterstown Handicap aboard the Ger O’Leary trained La Chassotte
Curtis produced 11/2 shot to challenge two furlongs out and the pair stayed on well to lead inside the final furlong for a half length win over Sailors Warn
A delighted O’Leary said afterwards: “I’m thrilled with that I can’t believe it, she’s just so tough.”
“I was going to bring her to France for a claimer because their premiums are high but I was afraid to loose her for twenty five thousand.”
“There are plenty of options now for a three year old hurdle, she’ll remain a dual purpose horse.”
