Knocknagow Leader another for Sligo punters
J P McManus completed a first and last race double at Sligo as Knocknagow Leader became the fifth winning favourite on the card, obliging in the info @countysligoraces. com Beginners Chase. The multiple champion owner had landed the opener courtesy of the Martin Brassil-trained Double Seven
In the finale, Knocknagow Leader led from the fourth under Andrew McNamara and he was ultimately three lengths and a neck too good for Second Glance and Mirador Del Conde
Winning trainer Edward O'Grady said: "The conditions were really made for him (a beginners chase for horses that hadn't won a hurdle). He made just the one mistake but it was a bad enough one (the sixth fence). He'll go for a little handicap somewhere next."
