Ger Lyons' Knocklane Lass built upon two runner-up berths to score in Dundalk this evening.
The 11/10 favourite raced prominently and worked her way to the front after a furlong and a half of the first split of the seven furlong fillies' maiden.
She was still going strongly at the furlong pole as Honey Girl (9/4 from 7/1 in the morning) tried to close on her.
The Profitable filly kept up the gallop under Colin Keane, though, and beat that rival into second by two lengths. Kadinnka (25/1) was another three and a quarter lengths away in third.
Assistant trainer Shane Lyons said:- “She's done nothing wrong and has been a filly that has been improving with every run.
“That's an important one tonight as it's Tom Mitchell's first winner and we're delighted that he's been able to come here tonight to witness it. He's a good man and a good member of our team.
“We'll see what the programme is like in the New Year for her. She's very versatile, she goes on any ground and Colin just said there she can step up in trip as well which opens up a lot of doors.
“She's a very genuine filly and Tom will have a bit of fun with her.”
