Kiss Goodnight wore down Lake Louise inside the last half furlong of the Follow Killarney Races On Facebook Handicap for Connor King and Joseph Murphy.
Ben Curtis sent Silky Pyrus into a clear lead, but the distress signals went up when the smooth travelling League Of Nations and Lake Louise went past him over two furlongs out.
It wasn’t long before Lake Louise burned off League Of Nations, who found very little when asked for more.
However, 7lb claimer Connor King was starting to get a run out of Kiss Goodnight and she drew alongside before getting up to win by half a length at 4/1. The 6/1 about her in this extended mile race was taken this morning.
Lake Louise and Billy Lee got runner-up money at 11/2. League Of Nations (4/5f) proved one-paced on this ground as he was beaten over 13 lengths in third with Joseph O’Brien.
Kiss Goodnight showed her fondness for give underfoot when third last time in a mile handicap at Gowran Park on soft ground. Lake Louise was second that day, half a length in front, but the tables were turned this evening.
