King takes last at Leopardstown
The concluding Sandyford (Q.R) Maiden saw a thrilling finish with Fantasy King and Paul McMahon just getting up in the closing strides to score by a short head.
McMahon had to work hard aboard the Acclamation gelding to get up and lead close home and deny Swiftmarc and Tom Bennett of victory.
Winning trainer O’Brien said afterwards: “We’ll keep him on the go throughout the Summer now, he hops off the fast ground.”
“He’s still a bit green and there’s still a bit of improvement to come.”
