King rules to double Townend's score
Paul Townend added to his earlier gains with Sounds Of Jupiter when he guided The Kings Sword to a comprehensive twelve length success in the March 13th & 14th Family Racing Weekend Maiden Hurdle.
The King's Theatre gelding made a bad mistake at the third hurdle but he got to the front after the third last, he was ridden clear from before the next and he could afford to ease up close home when seeing off the second two in the market, The Big Boyo and Vintage Oak
Winning trainer Kieran Purcell was leading up his charge and he had to move on with the grey before he could make any remark to the assembled press.
Thurles bumper The Kings Sword was scoring at the third attempt over flights and stepping-up six furlongs in trip obviously suited the strong staying five year old well.
