The Ben Curtis ridden King Of Dudes took the jogforjockeys.ie 3yo Handicap on his debut for Tommy Carmody and on his first attempt in handicap company.
The son of Dansili had failed to score in three maiden runs when trained in the UK by Henry Cecil.
He had his last run for Cecil at Newbury in May and having his first start for Carmody this evening he made all at a steady pace and kept on well when ridden inside the final furlong to record a length and a half success.
The Mick Halford trained Sure Reef finished second under Marc Monaghan at the odds of 5/2 favourite, having being well backed from his overnight price of 6/1 with Paddy Powers and his morning price of 4/1.
The winning Andrew Tinkler owned colt was returned at 13/2 but was as big as 12/1 earlier today with Paddy Powers.
He is a half-brother to the Paddy Twomey trained Hunting Goddess who won her maiden at Dundalk in May.
Winning rider Ben Curtis said afterwards: "He is a grand horse. I got an easy lead and no one contested it. I was able to ride my own race and steadied it the whole way.
"He picked up nicely and stayed on well to the line."
