Keoghs Bar gives O'Connell double
Keoghs Bar landed a gamble in the beginners chase at Kilbeggan and gave jockey Eddie O’Connell a double in the process.
The seven-year-old Flemensfirth gelding from Navan-based Irene Monaghan’s yard justified market support from 20/1 to 14/1 when produced by O’Connell. Deputy Consort who was also well-backed from 9/1 to 6/1, was deprived by a head while Christy Roche’s 3/1 shot Stakers in the JP McManus colours, was three lengths back in third. One Cool Tornado trained by Paul John Galligan and ridden by Davy Russell, was sent off the 5/4 market leader, but proved disappointing when pulled up before three out.
