Jack Kennedy maintained his 14-lead (107-93) over Paul Townend at the head of the Jockeys' Championship today having himself registered a Gowran Park winner today, on Saint Felicien in the Gowran Park Golf Club Beginners Chase.
Townend had partnered Saint Sam to win the earlier race and while the six-times champion then made the running on Spanish Harlem Kennedy moved Saint Felicien to lead at the third-last before staying on well for a 3.25 lengths win from Aime Desjy
Saint Felicien's trainer Gordon Elliott later reported “he probably ran to the same rating as the last day, with the third-placed horse (Spanish Harlem). He’s not a bad horse on his day and could go for something in Cheltenham like the Plate.
“He’s not easy to train but he has an engine and won a good race over hurdles here in the past.”
