Bottom weight Malacanne (7/2) got off the mark at the eighth attempt today, landing Dundalk's Book Online At DundalkStadium.com Handicap for trainer Johnny Murtagh, jockey Shane Kelly and owners Weld-Spec (Glasgow) Ltd.
Having his third start at the Co Louth venue, having finished second a fortnight ago, the son of Raven's Pass raced with the pace and eventually beat Arabian Legend by three parts of a length.
Dual Group 3-winner Kelly, who is Murtagh's second-jockey, said "he ran well here the last day and the step up to a mile with another run under his belt helped. He's actually a grand little horse and he's a yard favourite so I'm delighted he won.
"I think the step up in trip definitely helped and he might go a little bit further. That seems to be a good enough trip for him. He goes well at home so, every time he came up here, we thought he'd run well, so it is no surprise."
